Stash busting fun!! This piece has been kitted and sitting in my stash for quite some time. I love Charley Harper and his cardinal designs have always been a particular favourite. When I realized that I could purchase painted canvases and stitch guides – I immediately added a couple to my stash for future stitching.

I was looking for a piece that I could stitch in the winter evenings when lighting isn’t that good. This piece was perfect for that!

This has been a quick stitch! Every once in a while you need one of these in your life – stitchy instant gratification!!

The grey background is lovely – most of the threads in this piece are of the silk variety ❤️
Working on the chest – love the texture of the knitted stitch
Beak and eye – all he needs is the center fleck in the eye.
Wing and belly are done. Love the red!!
A close up of the snow (French knots)
Time to move on downward – and behold! – The bottom of the design has appeared!

After a couple of intense stitch nights, this piece is finally finished! I just love it ❤️❤️❤️

All finished!

Stay tuned for part 2 – finishing… I’m on a hardware hunt 😊
