This beautiful little goldwork apple has been on my ‘to do’ list for a while! It is a design by Natalie Dupuis (Sew by Hand) and was offered as a group correspondence course through the Embroiderer’s Association of Canada (EAC) last year. I was very lucky to have been able to stitch this piece along side some members of my local guild (Calgary Guild of Needle and Fibre Arts). We stitched together over zoom calls and in no time our apples were complete!

This soon became another “must have” piece for my goldwork journal! It was such a fun stitch. I love how the stitches get closer together as you move into the center of the apple which creates a lovely shading effect.

Natalie is a spectacular designer and has kits available for sale on her site. If you find her teaching a workshop near you (or online), I highly recommend signing up. She also teaches online goldwork classes regularly and has been featured in Inspirations Magazine (Australia). She’s been interviewed on Fibre Talk and Stichery Stories (links below)
