Another sweet little “no-sew” tray has come into existence! I finished this beautiful William Morris Rose needlepoint some time ago and just could not decide how I wanted to finish it. I was inspired by my “A Garden Queen” accessory tray and an awesome craft paint find in the sale bin at our local Michael’s store.

I love the soft pinks and greens in this piece and it turns out that the paint colour I found in the bin at Michael’s matched almost exactly to the green in the leaves of the piece. The paint is also textured and it gives the tray a soft matte, natural look.

I mounted this piece the same way as I did my “Queen’s Garden” tray. No sewing required! All you need is some foamboard, a piece or two of wool felt, some sequin pins and some trim – I’m a fan of the pompom trim!

The BEST part about this no-sew method, is that the mounted embroidery pieces are REMOVABLE! I can make more and swap them out!

Paulownia scalloped edge wooden tray
I didn’t take too many progress pictures of this piece as I was stitching…
Needless to say – there was A LOT of brown!!!

All done!
The Pom Pom trim by Lady Dot finishes the edge perfectly.
All done and ready to use.
The best part is that the mounted embroidery is removable. I can “change it up” with other mounted pieces!!
